• Dorchester Festival, including recipes

    I know everywhere looks better in the sun but I can safely bet that Dorchester on Thames is pretty gorgeous whatever the weather. I had never been there before today but am already thinking up excuses to go back and spend some time wandering round what must be one of the prettiest but also vibrant small towns in the country.

    The biannual festival is definitely going to be in my diary for 2015, whether or not I'm invited back to give another cookery demonstration (hint hint). There have been some fantastic events over the last couple of weeks and being part of it today felt like something to be really proud of. Once my demonstration was over I managed to squeeze in a quick browse round the fabulous food fair, buying yet another small pottery dish from Mugs, Jugs and More (I can never pass that stall without getting just one more and am building up quite a collection) and stocking up on a dozen eggs laid this morning at Vitality Farm; the children enjoyed very superior eggy bread for supper this evening and I can hardly wait for the omelettes Johnny and I are having later.

    But before my mini shopping spree came an hour and a half demo on "Simple Supper Parties" which was held in a lovely old fashioned marquee but at an extremely modern and well put together demonstration kitchen provided by Demo Station.

    I demonstrated 4 recipes using gorgeously summery ingredients and all of which are practical and easy to put together when you're entertaining friends. As promised to everyone there I'm including the recipes here and I do hope that they will all become part of your regular repertoire this summer.

    Thank you to everyone who came along and especially to Caroline who helped me brilliantly throughout the demo and to Lucie who organised everything so fantastically.
